Shadowheart is taking 'em back to school with the Lisa Frank palette "Saved by the Belle" lol
Thanks for posting that video! I was searching around for a Munsell's Malevolent Codex of Random BG3 Dye Names, cause it's a bit like shopping for house paints right now. Mellow Fruit and all hehe
For me little things like our character's chosen chromatics make a big difference. Or trying to get something matchy matchy going for the group, like team safety colors. I wish there was a bit more of an aesthetic progression on this, cause I feel like when you frontload this too hard it takes something away from the excitement of that final tier in colors. Like I'd be perfectly happy if we could only Dye the components that are actually capable absorbing a dye. For other components like metal we should be able to use paint, tinting glazes or polishes, or magic. I think something desirable (which the video above shows quite clearly) is a way to adjust the sheen/shininess of the metal, so that some of these duds would look a bit less ceremonial or parade worthy, and more like grinding it out. I wish we could set dirty face so that it applied more to our gear than our foreheads, because it makes sense to clean and maintain our armor after battle and it's a lot less intrusive to see some grime and blood on your boots ya know.
This isn't exactly related, but sorta related, so if we elect to "Dye" our face, I wish some of these would be treated more like warpaint than permanent facial tattoos. I mean no judgment on face tats for peeps that are making that stop at the shopping Maul, but we're missing some simple stuff there. For example when soldiers or athletes paint their under eyes black, the way Lae'zel does, this to help reduce glare and the need to squint, and quite practical but we don't have basic stuff like that. We should probably have like half a dozen variations on that. You know like going woad, but only in the heat of battle, then when you get to camp you can wipe it off. That'd also be nice.
