Seems I'm completely stuck here.

Either I fight Shadowheart, losing her as a companion or I let her kill Nightsong, which isn't an appealing choice either. My character has CHA 18, but I have a 30 to roll to convince Shadowheart otherwise. Not even a perfect 20 could resolve this, since I only have 9 bonus points.

You do not have to persuade her to spare Aylin.

If your approval with Shadowheart is high and the narrator mentions that you've created a meaningful bond with her, then simply by not intervening and trusting her to make her own choice will cause her to throw the spear away.

A natural 20 is always a success, even if your total isn't high enough to meet the DC.

Also, I have seen some people say that
if you leave the choice up to Shadowheart, she will make a decision in line with what you want without having to roll.
This possibly depends on dialogue choices in Act 1, though I can't confirm.
