Could we get an indicator somewhere when the game wants us to Long Rest because new events are queued to happen ?

I even made a concept of the feature for this during Early Access by having a simple exclamation mark over the resting button to let us know someone wants to talk;

Yes it would really help with not missing important story events. As someone who tends to rest too rarely, and the Rest Song on my Bard doesnt help with that, that would be really nice to have.

I rest too rarely too. I'd love a small indication that something will happen if I long rest.
