Okay, I've seen some others have similar problems. In Act 3 after the harper ambush, Jaheira leaves my camp to find Minsc. As I play through Act 3 I uncover clues that Jaheira is a shapeshifter. But I cannot find her, in any form. I get to the counting house and finally see her as a shapeshifter. I go after her and Minsc and, this is where it is seemingly stuck. I cannot save Minsc. Jaheria isn't in my party nor my camp, and hasn't been since the lower city. I believe this part is a bug. With Minsc I have tried every combo to save him, but the emporer never does. Looking online EVERYTHING simply assumes I have Jaheira in my party for this fight and i can recruit Minsc with her. At the same time, there are people on places like reddit saying they recruited Minsc without Jaheira. Again, no real details, just that she isn't in their party.

What i don't know is if real Jaheira is still alive and where to find her if she is. She just left my camp with no option from me and i literally have seen her since. So if the real her is alive, i can only assume i have to find her somewhere.. if this is the case.. where? If not, how do i get Minsc/ The Emporer to calm down? The Emporer sounds like he skips a dialogue option in the cutscene. If this is the case, how do I convince him to protect Minsc? I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to get this to work. I had skipped 9-fingers so went and talked to them.

Basically this:
Is real Jaheira still alive? If so, where can i find her? ( her completely vanishing and never returning does feel like a bug i have to admit). If she is dead, where can i find her body?
Can I recruit Minsc without Jaheira? Am i missing a dialogue somewhere? It's the Emporer seemingly not protecting Minsc, is there something else i have to do to convince him?

Any details on this will be helpful, i have found lots of contradictory stuff. And like i said many walkthroughs simply assume Jaheria is with me in this fight. I have no idea what to do.

This seems to be the second set of options that feels skipped. But again, this is assuming Jaheria is with me. I never get these options. Copy and pasted from one of many walkthroughs:

Jaheira wants to save him, but the Emperor Mindflayer thinks he's too chaotic and would disrupt your plans. Choose the following replies if you want to recruit Minsc in Baldur's Gate 3:

"Try to protect him. I must defy my urge."
"He's Jaheira's friend. Do it."
"I don't think you want to find out," or "It doesn't matter--help him."

That is the point.
Minsc recruitment is far too dependent on whether Jaheira is swallowed up by the game or not. In my sorcerer playthrough she was suddenly gone after her scene looking to her daggers and I could forget about Minsc. Two companions are dropped at once.

In my first playthrough, Isobel was captured and Jaheira killed in the subsequent fight, and I had no leads to find minsc at all.

Until I stumbled into the Half-Orc guard, and my rogue levels immediately knew that was a Guild Enforcer, so I was let in.
Once in, Talked to Nine-Fingers, expecting to talk about her cargo that I threw at Goblins in Act 1. Nope, Tav had the option to jsut flat out ask about Minsc that we had never heard of until then.

Sry no real help, but Yeh I'm happily playing with MInsc, Boo and alot of gold in my party now after days and days of a long drama with this issue.

It was a showstopper, rage quit, tech support level issue for me. lol Because for me Jaheria had died in Moonrise fight.
Lesson for others: don't ever leave act 2 without Jaheria if you want Mins and Boo.

Dealing with this issue now, just encountered Minsc and fake Jaheira in sewers. Lots of suggestions on Reddit but nothing fixes this. Tried to pick up Minsc's unconscious body DURING combat but you cannot. Once he wakes and you fight him again, non-lethal doesn't work even if it's turned on. After killing him, Boo is there sobbing. Jaheira disappeared from my camp, but she's confirmed to be there in the final scenes after you beat the game (per others' testimony). I wish they'd fix this. This game could be so much more fun if not for all of the bugs and inconsistencies. Does Larian communicate with the community? Do they announce acknowledgement and plans for fixes or anything? I'm so upset right now, I don't even want to play a second playthrough UNTIL they fix things like this. I stopped playing Starfield because of similar tech issues and missing content. Ugh!
