To preface this, this is not my first playthrough, I am aware of the cutscenes that should happen at this location.

The Bug:
- After finishing the ketheric thorm fight, and after triggering the cutscene to gather new allies by walking out of moonrise towers, I went through the path to baldur's gate. (for some reason there was no fight with githyanki unlike my first playthrough)
- Next, it rested and teleports me to the ACT 2 Camp, after which i end the night and it triggers the cutscene just before leaving the path to baldur's gate.
- I am now in wyrm's lookout, which usually resting here would trigger the gith ambush and the whole astral plane thing.
- Instead, after resting, i wake up as if it was a normal rest. the wyrm's lookout is in daytime and i am unable to leave camp nor sleep again (the button to do so not working) and thus, the game is soft locked.

Things to note:
- This was a multiplayer save, so there was one other Tav other than mine.
- Gale was never picked up, Halsin bugged in act 1 and never came to my camp after saving him, Laezel was dead... somewhere, and Jaheira was dead in the last light fight.
- this playthrough kinda bugged and I never got the option to use tadpoles, instead still doing the "tadpole doesn't wanna dialogue" when i try to eat it.

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

Bump. still persisting issue, a fun thing I have found is if I fast travelled in the bugged morning state to another part of act 2. all the enemies that had been in the region would respawn. so that's something.

anyways, any ideas to fix it would be appreciated.

Me too, I am stuck in camp after act 2.

I didn´t leave moonrise tower walking, so I never got that cutscene. I went straight to camp, which is quite natural indeed.

After that battle with KThorm, everybody kind of like camps inside the tower, so why walk outside at all ??

Larian should have prepared for that, since they decided to build a sort of camp right there, after the boss battle.

So, but I did get the talk between Shadowheart and the Avatar Aylin, but apparently that was not enough.

I also talked to everyone I could while there, but I decided to go straight to the road to Baldur´s Gate waypoint.

(of course, that is so natural for players spending hours in BG3, that Larian should antecipate most people would do that, instead of walking).

As much as I enjoy this game and have been playing it for many hours, I must say this game can only be finished if you read a lot on the internet.
Otherwise, you will end the Shadow curse but face the BG3 gaming Curse which is tougher to deal with.

UPDATE:

I tried another long rest and it worked!

Shadowheart spole about searching for her parents and I could leave camp and saw the cutscene about the shadow curse being lifted.

OP, I am experiencing the same issues and gave up trying to find a solution after loading a very early save, going through the entire Act 2 again, and getting the same result. Never expected this marvelous game become so upsetting to me.

Playthrough details:
- Dark Urge+Minthara duo (tactician)
- Every companion is permanently dead, except Shadowheart
- We skipped Créche Y'llek altogether because Minthara needed Thorm dealt with first
- Beat Thorm the intended way after clearing the rest of the Shadowcursed Lands
- Went through all cutscenes at camp before taking the road to Baldur's Gate, except Minthara's 2nd romance scene (if there even is one?)
- At Wyrm's Lookout, no cutscenes take place during long rest, no one has anything to say, can't rest again and can't leave camp
- Warped back to Act 2 to try again, every single enemy respawned
- Can't take the road to Baldur's Gate anymore

It's worth noting that reloading, verifying my install and reinstalling the game at any of these points changes nothing.

Hopefully Larian will look into this someday?

I figured it out, OP: this only occurs if you skip Crčche Y'llek. Played the same old save again, but this time I made sure the Crčche was cleared BEFORE dealing with the Nightsong. The bug is no more!

While not really a fix, it's good to know the cause.

Bumping this thread instead of starting a new one because I have the same problem and I figured its better to keep the information together.. I have tried the other solutions in this thread.

I haven't updated to patch 8 yet because I wanted to complete this game first.

I have completed act 2. I headed to the road to Baldur's Gate, went through, rested at camp, got the Gortash cutscene, ended up at Wyrm's Lookout, it was night (no ambushers or guardian cutscene), I rested, it went day at the same place. I can't leave camp or rest again. I can quick travel back into the shadowlands, and the fog of war has returned plus a lot of enemies are back alive,

I suspected something going on with Astarion. When I made him bite the drow, there was no discussion back in camp after. And he made the deal with Raphael, I killed Orthon, but Raphael has never come back despite many rests.

I'm Durge, and going evil, tactician, killed most of the people I would have potentially needed to talk to including nightsong and Jaheira. The shadowlands is very empty! I have revisited Moonrise, Shar's Gauntlet and Last Light.

I've tried killing Astarion before the road to Baldur's Gate and leaving him with Withers, then tried killing all other party members 1 by 1 and going into the road again
I reloaded from the end of the Myrkul fight and walked from there back to the western road (I do get the dream guardian talk to me right outside the front door telling me to seek allies in BG) but nothing has changed the outcome. Sometimes when I spawn at Wyrm's lookout my whole party is at the top of the tower, usually I spawn next to Minthara.

Have been using a couple mods this run. Poly mod and unlimited party mod. I have tried disabling/uninstalling both mods still hit the same problem that the ambush doesn't happen and I'm stuck in the camp. Its also not the solution above - I did the Creche and now cannot return to that area. There is nothing unusual or incomplete in my journal - it just tells me to go to Baldur's Gate.

Any suggestions for how I can get through this? I really don't want to lose the playthrough!


Edit to add;
I have now tried updating the game as well. I got a new inspiration for Minthara when I loaded and a bit of new dialogue for her that I hadn't seen before, but same major bug.

hello. I'm in the same situation, I can't get to act 3, and when I take a long rest, it just dawns on me. The only place I can go is the act 2 area. I sleep peacefully and wake up, what is wrong with me? And I'm n honor mode, so very sad.

I put in a bug report with Larian and was told its a known issue that might get patched in a future hotfix.

Sucks to lose an honor mode run to it! For now, I have activated the book of debug mod, set the correct flags, and teleported to the start of Act 3. I miss all the cutscenes and such in between but at least I can continue. Hopefully it works.
