Right now, it's just a tiny dot that you can barely see (maybe my eyes just suck lol). It ends up taking a few seconds to find it so instead I just use sort by latest- which defeats the purpose of having a 'new item highlight' in the first place.

I feel like if it were a bit more vibrant and had more of an animation, it could be extremely useful.

Perhaps a bright glowing border around the new item would be better than a tiny, hardly-noticable dot.

Agreed- an animated border highlight would be great. A ton of games do this pretty well already so hopefully we can see it here too.
