Hello,

At the moment every NPC in the game start their approval with you at neutral at the only way to change it (except for companions) is to give them gift or to commit a crime next to them.
At the moment, the approval system of NPC other than companions seems to be just a feature to min max money exchange with a merchant and to my opinion, it breaks the immersion without adding much to the game.
I feel the feature for the approval for the NPC should be more representative of what the NPC think of you :

- The approval should go drastically up when you save them or do them a big favor when resolving a quest
- The initial approval should be influenced by story relationship : for example, some NPC are friends with some of your companions but still start at neutral approval with them. You could have a malus when playing drow and be discriminated against, or when engaging with githyanki when you are not one of them
- A high approval should let you avoid to be attacked on sight when you steal a flower next to them

I would be glad to know what of the rest of the community think of the approval rating of NPC smile
