Why is Kethric not a forced interaction before the final fight in that chapter? Through my own pathing, I never once saw him nor interacted with him until the fight. The dialog however acted like we did meet. Broke the immersion for me at that point. J.K. Simmons is an amazing actor, and Kethric's lore is great but it is all wasted if you are not forced to meet him during Act 2 like you are forced to meet Raphael. A simple response from Kethric before the fight could be like "So you are the one who has been causing all this trouble" or something to that effect (I am not a writer so be gentle). Every major villain in this game should have a chance to be in the spot light, but this particular villain was a missed opportunity.

Jaheira flat out told you to infiltrate the Moonrise Towers to get information about Ketheric's immortality, and you chose to instead go off exploring and do the Gauntlet before the towers. Is that the game's fault?

TBH, I did the same. J.K. Simmons' Kethric was too intimidating, I had to do everything else before daring to go to Moonrise Towers.

This also happened in my first playthrough. It's not like the game actively discourages you to do everything else before going to Moonrise Towers. The Mausoleum is really close to the House of Healing, it really looks like Shadowheart would like to visit it because of the millions of clues about Shar worship in the area, and finally Raphael shows up with a quest for you at the entrance. No one specifically says you should infiltrate Moonrise Towers as soon as possible. It is the obvious course of action if you choose to arrive at Act 2 through the Mountain Pass, but it's absolutely not as obvious when choosing the Underdark path.

Is that the game's fault? The game suggests that Ketheric is immortal, and therefore, a direct confrontation with him would be pointless. When you learn that there is a way to investigate the secret of his immortality, it's quite intuitive to first search for this, so you can be well-prepared for the final confrontation.

I did infiltrate Moonrise, and rescued the Tieflings, but never ran into his character at all. You can get to the dungeon by not going through the front door. Why would I stick around after causing a prison break? The issue is the dialog when we first meet at the fight. I discovered his secret in the Shar Temple so Moonrise isnt the only location to get it.

I didn't like Jaheirah on my first playthrough (never played the other games so I had no connection to her), so my petty ass did the exact opposite of what she wanted lol.

Is that the game's fault? Yes, that is game's fault. The game was advertised that it reacts to player's reaction. Watch the box video if you haven't. And this is not some some weird corner case.
