Anybody who sells a flask of water, or the spell create water, or you gotta step in the stream to get the wet/hazardous terrain.
A nice animation would be to have them cup their hands and reach down to splash their face if idling.
In EA I thought they were just sorta having a go at us in whatever patch that was included, I can't recall. I think if it happened on short rest it would make a lot more sense than long rest because it's easier to control if you want to stay dirty for a bit and short rest happens more frequently with the double up there. All the characters make little exclamations like they just freshened up.
An animation that has the character dirty when the cutscene begins but wiping their face with a handkerchief would be cool. Perhaps more dialog where characters or party members comment on this aspect of your appearance. If you want to roll around like Diogenes, or never shower, but nobody brings it up lol. I do think they should make allowance for characters to appear just like ridiculous after combat. Like wearing their best Carrie face or whatever, but then in portions of the game where a conversation is immediately triggered, it would be nice to just see them clean up their faces, if not their hands and equipment.
Finally, it would be cool to have a wading into the water to clean off and bathe animation, where the Avatar could actually go into the water like shoulder deep and take a little bath that way. I just kept hoping that they'd give us a way to pseudo-swim.
I mean we land right by the River and it's so inviting the way they did it up. It would be really killer if you could wade into the river by the Nautiloid but then get swept off by a current to some hidden spot. The fishing poles are right there too. I don't know that I'd need a whole lot actually, proper swimming I can imagine would be tough, but just a bit more there could probably go a long way. Currently if you somehow get yeeted off a cliff into the water you die. But it would be fun if our characters could dive off the cliff and then struggle to reach the shore, or climb back on the boat with a skill check. That's a bit elaborate though, I just want to swim out a few meters. I try every time I land at the beach just to see if they let us get a little further out there.
Being able to wade into water waistdeep in dungeons and wilderness areas would also add a lot to the atmosphere. Snakes and stuff like that or maybe piranhas to make this sort of thing a little dangerous. Like so when get to the city you'd want a tub. Having sacred pools in the temples, or a hotspring.
Bathing could also be a sort of easy cut into something intimate for the companions that's short of a romantic interlude, but might go there eventually. A lot they could do with it.
For ultra grime, the opposite might be some sort of Mud Memphit who rewards the dirtiest PC with something for keeping that up. Along with the goat who eats all the rotten camp supplies. But otherwise an item called "Handkerchief" that allows you to do it from the hotbar. Collecting sponges and fancy soap might be at least as interesting as eating some of these hearty meals they've prepared. Bathing could just slot right in there as another cosmetic angle to the supplies mechanic already at work, but much more forgiving. Just some ideas
ps. Oh oh, now I thought of it, so how about this... Each character could have a little vignette for the camp scenes.
Astarion hasn't swam in a stream in probably a couple hundred years right, so maybe that's a whole thing for him.
Karlach's engine is like a perma sauna, or hot tub for any pool or river, cause that's just how she rocks it.
Shadowheart only swims at night.
Gale never swims and just kinda hangs out skipping stones. He doesn't want to talk about it.
Wyll's dad made him play riverpolo at First Camp, so there's a whole Blade Wade legacy he had to live up to.
Lae'zel is like the Phelps of Fae'run with balks and barks on the subject of form and proper paddling technique. She can fish with her bare hands.
Durge has to sink the body, obviously
Minthara and Halsin, use your imagination for that pair hehe
