Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Mods not working

Today I've played for the first time since hotfix 6 dropped. And on loading the save I got the dreaded unable to create a working story message. I am using mods, and that has worked fine so far, but since hotfix 6 I can't get the game to run with any mod. I've tried quite a lot of things:
-updating anything mod related
-updating the mod fixer
-trying the mod manager fixer
-adding a mod manually to the lsx file
- starting a new game with just one mod (any mod, I tried 3 or 4)
No matter what I do, I get that message and on a new game, BG3 starts without mods.
Did hotfix 6 break the mod handling? Or am I still missing something?

I've not needed Mod Fixer since Patch 1. I don't think removing it will fix your problem but maybe worth a long shot?

One of the moderators posted this the other day. Might be worth a try though it will remove all your mods from the game. If it gets your game going you could always try re-adding them later.

I got it working for saved games, but for new ones: not a chance. The mod fixer doesn't seem to have any influence on this, so you are probably correct that it isn't needed any more.
The mod manager fix is the automated version of the post from the moderator. It is basically chanding the mods files to include the correct game version. Even the latest mod manager seems to get this wrong, though again, it doesn't seem to make any difference for the behavior.
The mod manager I'm using is the one from laughing leader, and up to hotfix 6, it worked nicely.
At least I can now play again. Thanks for the suggestions.
