Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Dragon Armor XP?I will have 5 of those!!!

I don't know if this has been posted before but I found it out two hours ago while trying to complete the Holy Weapons quest (mainly I needed the friggin' sword) using the FIX for broken Holy Items quest (thnx Raze) and I noticed this:

At the time,I was already wearing the full Dragon Armour set (XP and all)...When I loaded the "fixed" savegame the game gave me the XP and the level in Elemental Strike again!!!
I saved,Copy+pasted the story.* files from the untouched savegame again (steps 4 and 5 in the fix) and I received them again...and again...and again!!!
And suddenly I got myself 5 levels of the most bad-a$$ spell in the game and 2000 XP short of the 41st level!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif" alt="" /> If this was done while I was lower in levels,I would surely gain a level or two,because the XP for the completion of the set are 100000(!!!) or something like that...
The whole process was a little time consuming but it was worth it...I got a whole bucket of XP,5 levels of Elemental Strike and in the end I got a pretty good Sword too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Experience for completing quests is higher at higher character levels.

This wouldn't be quite as satisfying as discovering a new exploit, but check out iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

That's my point!Technically I'm not cheating cos I'm not using any external means of tweaking with the game,I'm only taking advantage of an open "window" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" />
When I started playing DD I swore I wouldn't use any kind of editor cos when I did just that while playing Diablo all the magic and the fun of the game was lost...I'm a roleplayer in real life too,so I know that cheating doesn't get you anywhere (unless of course you're the DM <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> )
Feels good though to know there are things like these in the game...Gives you the feeling of discovering all the possibilities...

But you are editing the game. You are tampering with a part of the save game structure, replacing one section of it with other data. Just 'cos the whole thing isn't in one file doesn't mean that isn't editing? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
