Ok, I just finished the game with Astarion, the ending scene makes me cringe so much. Come on, I was a hero who saved the world, and I had many companions with me to the end, can you not let him have Shadowhart or someone he intimites to assist him by putting a cape on him to block out the sun, while he turned around say his goodbye then uses thief's mobility skill to disappear into the darkness? But no, you just had to let everyone stood by and watch, while he ran like a mice, WTF is that?

Also, my Astarion told fellow vampires to feed on beasts, and I went on to feed on human at the very end? What a hypocrite did I become? And what a sad ending honestly!

The ending was as easy as doing it under cover, at least they didn't tell you any jokes. The astarion of my group always feeds on my Tav, but with prior consent and agreement, I don't think he is cynical about it, he is not assaulting anyone or killing them. He lives a moment, which seems to be something erotic for them because of a romance scene I had before the druid party, with his partner.
