I wonder what everyone felt regarding this storyline?
I honestly expected the story to mirror bg 1-2 not flat out copy it.
This is what I expected to see: "A wicked moment, person, or thing that cannot be slain by sword or spell haunts your mind and flickers in your peripheral vision. You carry it wherever your adventure takes you - or perhaps it carries you."
I did not see any flickering in my peripherals, I did not see any haunting dreams. I expected literally something more haunting, maybe ancient, maybe infernal. Maybe more subtle in the beginning. I expected to actually see something flickering across the screen sometimes(maybe events?). Something that paralleled the originals quite well. And I was really disappointed when it turned out you are just another Bhaalspawn.
The build up is really good but then you hit act 3 and it is just: you step on to Wyrms crossing, and for some random reason: "a surge of memories hits you. You are the former assassin of Bhaal..." And.. That's it. I face Orin and hit a button that says "resist" and it is over.
There is never any big consequence to being the Dark Urge either, across 85 hours it was just Alfira ..
