Friend of mine got it up and running on Mint but I want some other opinions. Anything to look out for? Problems?

I'm assuming it runs under wine?

I'm thinking of wiping my windows install and want to make sure some of my games work. >. >

Runs great. BG3 will run natively on Linux.

Would I be able to keep my saves? They're on the cloud.

Works great. Vulkan version too. Experience may vary, with AMD GPU there's not much to worry about.

I have an AMD cpu and Nvidia GPU ><

Waiting for an order of USB sticks before I install. Need to back up everything and make a windows recovery disk plus Bootable disk flinux

I've been checking my games as few seem to be unable to run, but I like finding out if they will.

First time on linux can be tough. If you need any help maybe you will find there some folks ready to aid. I personally run Gentoo but i don't recommend it for beginners. Cloud saves on steam should works normally like on windows.
Btw. i wish you best on your way to digitial freedom. When i was beginner i had troubles too, on the web there's a lot of people that will help you. Actually, i don't even have microsoft account and i'm proud of this.

Learn the basics and some scripting. I actually learn ruby programming and rewrite my 'backup scripts' from bash to ruby. Nothing feels better like making homemade script that backups stuff and send to another machine through ssh. The best cloud is your local HDD.

I used Linux (redhat) about 25 years ago. So yeah, it's been a while. Going to be running mint.
