Me and my girlfriend bought the game hoping for the same amazing experience we had when we first played DOS:2.

Unfortunately that has not been the case and we have been struggling with constant issues playing the game co-op. Reading other threads here it seems most people have no problems to begin but instead increase over time to the point that its barely playable 15-20 hours in.

For us the problems began almost immediately with missing voice during cutscenes and really bad framerate, continually getting worse the more we played until now it's barely playable at all 15 hours in and definately not enjoyable (currently in the underdark). It's such a shame because you can tell this is a gem of a game but its current state makes it impossible to enjoy.

The issues we are having are as follows:
1. Constant and long freezes when changing character, using spells that summon, teleporting, interacting with inventory, doing actions like jumping simultaneously.
2. Unable to use characters during fights - This is a new one we first encountered in the underdark. While in a fight i couldn't move the two characters im controlling. I could select a spell using R1 but only way to target was using the left or right button and if the target was out of range they couldn't do anything. Rendered the characters completely useless for the encounter.
3. Constant stuttering and low framerate - This has been present since we first started. I played 5 minutes before my girlfriend joined co-op and the difference is HUGE. Playing alone everything felt smooth and looked good, no stuttering or freezes but the instant she joined everything felt janky. Makes it even clearer that what we co-op players are experiencing is not the thought-out experience.
4. Terrible inventory and inventory-management - New items you pick up are marked with a barely noticeable icon making it hard to find them. The inventory and its icons are way to small, can't tell what is what and finding what im looking for is hard. Probably because of the shared-inventory system.
5. Tooltip in inventory - Automatically turns off every time we open inventory for some reason. Annoying having to press R3 every time. Also, sometimes looking at one item it doesn't show up even though im highlighting it so i have to go to another item and then back again.
6. Unable to navigate inventory/shops while co-op partner is doing something - Sometimes while selling/buying items or going through inventory you cant do it at the same time as the one you're playing with.
5. Books zoomed out - Pick up a book and wanna read it? - in that case you have to go from the couch to stand in front of TV because they are so zoomed out it's not readable.
6. Problem with cutscenes - Sound dissapears all of a sudden. In one cutscene with Raphael the screen went dark and stayed that way the entire dialogue. And what's up with the split-screen cutscenes where me and my girlfriend are both having the same cutscene with our guardians? Feels weird having the same cutscene running for us both.
7. Why is there no option for shared screen?? Especially during combat this makes no sense and it also breaks immersion while playing and you wanna play it fullscreen.

My hope is to bring more attention to the issues we are facing and that Larion will go out of their way to fix this as soon as possible. I know there are more threads highlighting these problems but i'm honestly surprised this hasn't gotten more attention due to the severity of the issues.

We bought the deluxe version to get early access but I can't justify spending that money on a game that doesn't work. I am also concerned as Larian has not made any statement that they are aware of the issues and are working on them. Is it possible to refund the game and how does one do that?

We have the exact same issues, my husband and I. Interaction with Raphael was a white screen. Interactions with guardians were horrid, one was muted and they both happened at the same time.
I wish there was a way to delay the interaction for one player so the other can at least get the same experience.

The game is acting as if we're having two different playthroughs instead of being a team! We can't interact with each other at all, everything is happening separately, we can't interact with each other's followers... This is a far cry from DOS 1 and 2, I can't understand why they did things this way.

I think you can ask for a refund in PS5 store, you should have a 2 weeks time frame to do so, but I don't know how to access it. Probably on PC instead of on PS.

We won't ask for a refund, but I completely understand that other people would want to. We hope Larian will fix things in near future - I am positive that they are aware of these problems with split screen on PS5, there are just too many of us reporting these exact same issues. What I can't understand is why they are not acknowledging this publicly, so we could at least know what exactly is wrong and how they are working to fix it.

Created an account to add to this as well and posting to all the posts on the front page to try and get more visibility with this issue. Although Larian HAS to be aware of it at this point...
My wife and I bought this game, specifically on PS5, to play the game together as we greatly enjoyed DOS and DOS2.
We now show 60 hours on our save file. Got to some point in Act 2. When it got to the point where I was verbally cursing the game more than we were playing, it only made sense to stop playing until the issue is fixed. If only it were possible to refund a game after struggle-bussing your way through 60 hours of it...
This needs to get addressed.
