Hello,
The game used to start fine. Loading times to actually start the game are in excess of 10 minutes, if it loads at all. Moving my character has slowed down to be painstaking slow.

I have submitted a bug to Larian with no response.

Does anyone have any solutions?

I am using the DirectX server, as the Vulkan one had even worse loading times.

The Display adaptor I am using is the AMD Radeon (TM) Vega 8 Graphics.

My computer has 8GB of RAM, and has a 4 core processor.

Razer Cortex automatically optimises my computer for gaming whenever I boot up a game.

Is this a known issue with the loading time.

Game has a hard requirement of being on an SSD, is it? I tried playing it on a HDD, but my loading times still weren't 10 minutes long and I didn't have major issues until act 3. I'd try stopping Razer Cortex from messing with things, the game really doesn't your computer to "optimized" for gaming if it meets the requirements.

I have to say the graphics card is extremely weak, I'm playing on a GeForce 1050 TI and I can play at 40-60 FPS with everything on Low, I can't imagine how the game would play well on a Vega 8.

PS: Have you tried enabling Slow HDD mode in Options?

It's easy enough to stop Razer Cortex. What do you recommend regarding the graphics card. I am not familiar with how to up-spec things.

I would try slow HDD mode if the game stopped either crashing or taking a month of Sundays to load.

Slow HDD mode is helping mildly. Not by much.

I'm reaaally out of the loop when it comes to building PCs, so I wouldn't dare give you answers smile The last time I've built a PC was 2018, and I was no pro then either.

The one thing that I know is really important for BG3 is having the game installed on a SSD and not a HDD. Luckily for me my motherboard kind of supported a M2 SSD and that made everything in BG3 load faster. Still, I can't promise you that by moving BG3 to a SSD on your computer it your issue would be fixed. I somehow get the idea that your PC wasn't a super good gaming PC even when the Vega 8 videocard was released (2018).

It might be best to start with a fresh computer. I have looked into upgrading my current PC (bought in 2018), and it's just not worth it. All the new technologies would be held back by my motherboard, M2 SSDs have become so cheap that regular SSDs aren't worth it, standards have changed for cables so I would likely need to buy either a new power source or adapter cables, etc. I bought two of the cheapest fans I could find and they need 4-pin connectors instead of 3-pin now, I did not expect that and neither did my power supply unit smile Components for older motherboards just cost a lot - CPUs and RAM that are comptabile with my current motherboard are more expensive than much better components that work with a new motherboard, and the price difference is half of a new motherboard smile
