OK, I'm slowly playing my way through , and I'm currently running around the Battlefields in Act II, levelling up, I mean righting wrongs and doing good.
Anyway, I've a couple of questions. Or more.
How do I put crystals into the crystal bag? And what do they do when I've got them there anyway? How do I put charms on items? I've been expecting to find a skill that I needed to take before I could do it, but I've not come across it yet, or haven't recognised it if I have.
Oh, and hi everyone. Don't think I've been on the forum in almost a year now.

Right click on the item and on the bag in order to open it up and insert charms/crystals. The bag (and the items too I believe) have a tendency to open up *behind* your inventory window, so you may have to close it and move the open bag/item off to the side so you can see it. Once there, it should stay there when you open the next time. Also, there is a great post here that tells you exactly what each charm does so you can know *before* you do a permanant implant...heh....
Oh, the crystals raise your elemental resistances.....
Oops...it is a left click to open the bag/item....

1. you can open your crystal bag by clicking on it and you have 5 spaces to place/ remove crystals.Crystals will improve the crystal bag holder's resistance to whatever type crystal you put in there, your resistance will depend on the size of the crystal you place in there.
2.Charms can be placed in the slots by dragging and dropping into the appropriate charm slot. There are no skills to do this. it can be done right away. The majority of us who have played DD will realise that the slots are now crossed permanently and dont open after using certain skill levels like in DD.which is the same mistake I made until I thought hod on this is the second act and I am still not able to charm anything.. oops..

But when I open the crystal bag up, which I can do no problem, it closes immediately when I start to drag what are described as crystals into it! And I forget how you ID and drop charms into equipment. I have several now but can't figure out the interface. Please don't make me read the docs...
Thank you.

Ah, that's the problem with the bag and the gem slots! Thanks. But it is a left click for me...not right. Then, once I moved the bag off to a clean location on the screen it sticks there for future openings and I can move the three crystals I have so far into it. I discovered then that this was where the gem slot window opens up too--so all is well now. It seems like in DD I didn't pay much attention to what gems I equipped to what so I will start off with that approach in BD. Isn't there a skill that will reveal the nature of a gem before using it?
Where is this list you or someone mentioned for what the various charms do?
Thank you.

Where is this list you or someone mentioned for what the various charms do? Yes please. Me too. I assume that they are basically the same as in DD, but I can't remember which one was which in that either so it doesn't hugely help me. I suppose I could always go and look, seeing as it's still installed (in fact, I've never actually finished it, what with the computer crashes and other reasons), but basically, I'm lazt, so if someone's done the hard work for me I'll take that and go back to playing BD

Thanks Raze. Made a little sticky note to attach to the box for future reference.

The crystal bag was in act 1, in the room where picking up a key triggered the appearence on a teleporter pyramid, just before getting to the citadel. You should be able to get the crystal bag by downloading and swapping inventory files, as described in the topic below. My game was started in an earlier version and saved under 1.44 when I checked this. I tested in a save in act 3, and was able to give both characters a crystal bag (though with some irregularities in how game handles resistance boosts, since it is only expecting a single bag). It also worked fine when I loaded a previous save version, saved after passing the crystal bag, and did the file swapping to get it back. crystal bag (10KB) - inventory files Lost Items - guide and directory of inventory files (written for DD, works for BD)

Well that was kind of easy to do, and I guess I did it right because now I am the proud owner of 2 Gem Bags. Thanks Raze.

@ Raze I made a translation in french of your post about charms for the french section. I will complete it with more explanations about using charms later. Charmes
