It would be nice to have less "barks" or whatever, as the Origin character.

For instance, if I'm playing Astarion, I'm likely playing him with a different personality. Unfortunately, I keep hearing his voice along with his personality-thick observations about everything. If those could be removed, it would be easier to enjoy playing through his story.

Otherwise, there might as well be [Astarion] dialogue options that get picked for me, right? I assume I'm given freedom of dialogue choice options because I'm encouraged to play him with a different personality, but then I'm constantly reminded of his canon attitude.

Same with other Origins, obviously. I'm just using Astarion as an example.

They are premades, you don't make them the company does. Why i dont play origins & hated them when they started in DoS2. DoS1 was way better.

I'd prefer to avoid debating whether or not it's worthwhile to play an Origin character.

This is a suggestion to make the experience better for those who do choose to play one.

Don't know why you want to remove personality from a character you never made. You get it yet?

Um.

If you dont like playing a premade character ... then dont ?

What you describe is exactly the reason why I dont play them.

To repeat.

This is not difficult to understand.

I appreciate that you don't like playing Origin characters. That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about, because I'm talking about actively *wanting* to play an Origin character.

Your comments are decidedly unhelpful and unnecessary. Seriously. You get it yet?

The thing is that the origin characters have a preestablished backstory and personality. You can get a whole cinematic with them where they explain their goals, story and desires in the character creator. The custom character option is there for people who want a blank slate they can make their own. Wiping away the origin characters' personality completely just defeats the point of playing them. There are still roleplay elements and choices you can make for them, but you're playing as a character with a prewritten backstory and personality. Similar to Geralt of Rivia or Arthur Morgan.

Personally I haven't really enjoyed playing as origin characters because I feel it takes too much of them away, like I might as well just be playing as Tav.

But there is an option to completely turn off your character reacting to things as you explore. It's under "gameplay" I think.
