I had Auntie Ethel's Hair in my inventory for some time, as I was waiting to use it. Unfortunately I've just discovered it's missing, and an internet search has revealed that there is a bug where if you feed the Owlbear cub in camp, the game takes Auntie Ethel's Hair from your inventory. I believe this is what happened to me as the Hair is still in the inventory in the save before rescuing the cub, but missing after.

I'm feeling somewhat cheated as I was really looking forward to the stat boost. I really hope Larian will fix this bug, but in the meantime, is there something that can be done? I assume console commands don't exist? I've been looking at mods out of desperation, but they don't seem very safe at the moment. I really do not want to revert to a previous save as that was several days ago and I don't have the energy to face the Underdark and the Creche again.

I can understand being annoyed by this, I would be too... But what I don't get, is why people don't use the item immediately.

I used it within seconds of acquiring it, given the softlock I had to work around to get it at all.

People are different; not everyone games the same way. In my case, I didn't feel like I needed it in Act 1, and was waiting for Act 2 to use it.

I guess I'll just wait for the modding scene to mature.

I have just discovered the same (although I didn't know it was eaten by the Owlbear but it fits).

Thanks for posting this. Just spent 30 mins searching through my inventory and vendors if I sold it. I was holding to mine to see how the rest of my build worked out first. Very disappointing to lose it to the cub.

Ah that’s what happened, I thought I was going crazy. I was holding onto it trying to figure out who to feed it to better, considering act 3 mirror shenanigans and respeccing companions. Thank you for posting this, so glad I am only 1 hour away from feeding the cub
