(I know it might cause a frown for some people, but that's what critics are for).

How about a big smile and a hug? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

As for the story: spelling is the least of its problems. It is flat out incomprehensible. Word of advice: write in a language you're on speaking terms with, not run something through Babelfish and unleash it on the unsuspecting public. Unless this is some kind of troll/joke/attempt to prove how much one can mangle the English language.

That, or the result of a highly trained ape banging its fists on the keyboard.

this shall go down in history; on June 11th in the year 2004, winterfox has offered to a living breathing human being quote - a big smile & a hug - unquote followed by an emoticon representing a smile.

it was her 532nd post in the larian forum as member #170759.

this i solemnly tell u. *sweating to keep a straight face*

I still don't understand how anyone can mangle it that badly. Are you sure you weren't pulling a prank?

Curious. People are very diverse and have different opinions and all that, but why is "Nobody is perfect" used so frequently as a defense against criticism? It's scary -- sometimes I think people share a hive mind or something. One of these days I'll have to compile a list. I swear, there's a box of stock responses that people take turns drawing from.

To thread starter: uhm, you don't happen to post at FF.net, do you...?

Your nemesis-site <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />?

To the thread starter:
You are not asian, are you? It's just that the ponctuation was weird. I do not know (and I hope Janggut or fable could clarify it) but I think asian languages have no punctuation?

Nope; I post there. It's a wonderful site, with a large audience of readers. Shame there's no quality control, but hey, can't blame the webmaster -- trying to hire mods to screen stories for quality would have driven anyone batty. 95% of the stuff posted on the site are complete and utter garbage, but there are some gems there. I'm personally surprised and happy that KotOR has a (relatively) small fanbase, and the number of quality fanfics seem to outweigh the bad ones by a lot. LOTR, though, is a fandom I've given up on. My only consolation can be found in the Silm section.

I was asking the thread starter that because I stumbled across an entry in the SW section whose summary looked suspiciously similar to the writing he initially posted ("Squelbs" something). It's now gone, though.

Maybe because there are people who need defense against Sharks.

hello death ol' dude,

firstly, & unfortunately i don't write in chinese or any other asian language, except for malay (which the writings are romanised though it can also be written in jawi[that's arabic writing]) so i can't tell u accurately if there is any form of punctuation. but i can tell u this; in speech, we do use punctuation. that goes for almost all languages in asia. i think modern writings for chinese do use romanised punctuations such as coma, full stop.

2ndly, winterfox is asian, though i don't know if she's chinese or thai or i don't know.

Could you send me your story via PM, shajorodal ?

Should be this week, because next week I'm on intermship (right spelled ?).

And don't worry, I'm German, too.

Idf you want to learn, then I'd suggest the German-language RPG thread "on the road again", it's been written by many different people. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
