So what is the point of Arabella's quest? Is it a cut content, or the story might continue in the future extensions? Or I'm just missing something? Seems like after we found out about her parents, and she became a necromancer apprentice, and then leaved to travel the world, there should be a aftermath, something that would exposed what is her special destiny, and why is it so importing that the mysterious necromancer helped her, and send, all alone, in search for it. But the story just ends without a epilogue. You can find her in the gutter, looking at some stone, later, but she doesn't tell anything new. So, what do you think? Is there any hint on that?

This "necromancer" is not so simple. Arabella is either the protagonist of Baldur's Gate-4, or the antagonist of Baldur's Gate-4

No one knows, because there is no epilogue. But given that Jergal (Withers) told her to just "follow the Weave" she will likely be a recurring character at some point.

I hope, she will be. Arabella did grow on me. Though I doubt, she will be a protagonist or antagonist in the next game, since she can be dead.

Her unfinished story and Mols really annoyed me. Major character later or not, she should have had SOME SORT of epilogue or at least our last conversation with her shouldn't be so MUNDANE.

Considering she could die if you make a wrong choice when talking to Kahga, it's unlikely she'll be a major character or sequel protagonist. But she might have a recurring role if they do a sequel.

After a 10+ year time skip, Arabella would make an EXCELLENT Sorcerer Origin. Or an antagonist. Or a major supporting character. But Origin is better.

She is touched by both Sylvanus and Shar, possessing the power of the decaying forest. Then she is one of the only characters to interact with Jergal, who takes a special interest in her and shares his foresight of fate with her. This is important because Jergal is a mastermind conspirator who, according to Ed Greenwood, is 10 steps ahead of everyone. Jergal also only intervenes if absolutely necessary, and displays his first show of compassion in the entire lore(?) with Arabella.

A lot of recurring characters would make great Origins or Companions in future games, but that’s not the subject of this thread.

I also don’t think a character’s death in one permutation precludes them from being a future protagonist. Many characters that could have died permanently in BG1+2 appear in BG3.

I ould be perfectly fine, if Arabella came back as a companion in a future game - I mean, if Dragon Age can retcon deaths, then BG certainly can. And I mean, it was the same in BG1&2. Minsc died in BG1 permanently for me and in BG2 he just stood there in his cell, chatting happily about our adventures.

They're definitely setting her up as a potential character in BG4 (or possibly even BG3 DLC, if they go that route).

It would be REALLY easy to account for every permutation in which Arabella dies.

Jergal shows interest in her destiny and can revive anyone at will. If Kagha or the Goblins killed her in your game, assuming Larian allows decision-importing, her origin can reflect that she was revived by Jergal. She is touched by Sylvanus before meeting the party anyway.

Is it really unfinished though? Of all the Act 3 quests that are clearly half-finished this didn't strike me as one of them .

Obviously it's the start of her own journey, but I didn't see it as so inseparable from mine.
