Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks I am stuck BIG time!

I cannot kill the torture guy, he is too strong (level 4) and my guys get killed everytime and I have saved just before going in to torture room, and no matter how many ways I try to get passed him I cannot. Can anyone help please? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />

There are many ways to kill Fergus. He is tough though. I have read that one gamer started the fight with Fergus but with the torture table between them. He did not give him the chance to approach thus Fergus could not attack. Use space bar very often and use portions only when the bar indicating health is almost zero.

thanks dude, just bought this game, never heard of it before and it is beautiful, hope I don't get stuck here too long as this game looks promising, chose it over sacred in the computer shop.

Another tip to beat fergus, click on the painting hanging in the torture room, it will open a passage in the lower part of the room. There is a mana and health fountain, could give you the edge over him. Good luck.

Guys sorry to post again so soon, have been trying all that you said, and well he just follows you around the table and the fountain can only be used once, and for some strange reason both my characters take ages to hit back and in some cases he gets 3 in to my 1 hit and well you can guess the rest. I am not going to quit will explore more of the map and see if I missed something because at moment my two characters CANNOT beat him at there present stage (LVL 2.

Hve you completed the quests before Fergus room?

Quests? umm good question I cannot recall being given any, will have to check again, sorry dude and thanks for your patience, I normally play 1st person shooters, thought I would give this ago, the info on the box sold me <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" />

Okay managed to work out what quests I have (thanks to page 33) I am currently on two :-

1) Escape from Samuels prison
2) Kill the torture master (given to me by the talking skull, anyone remember the talking skull from monkey island <G> )

I am currently stuck on killing the master and well even escaping :-(

Managed to assign a whirlwind to sec button might try that, also have not been killing rats (should I?)

Well there are some quests you can complete while you are in the prison dungeons. Explore a little bit the area (if you need a spoiler tell me). Completing some tasks you earn xp and you lvl up. So Fergus will not be so tough. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> Examine blankets on the ground, take ropes if you find them, look closer to the walls of certain cells... Some clues here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
You will find BD perhpas more interesting and entertaining that shoot´em up games.

Thanks Babe, got past him using heaps of poitions and well between ALT - TABBING back to check this am now faced with approx 4-5 guards (Oh the joy), looks like a huge game, well worth the $.

yeah, the only method imho is idd use A LOT of potions.. that's how I did it as well, beyond him it gets a bit easier and thus more pleasant though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Killing all the rats is a good idea since they cant talk and offer no quests. I had no trouble killing Fergus; I found a nice 2 handed weapon for my Dk and low and behold fergus went out screaming.

Yeah thanks Viper, as you said, the game is excellent, I ran it at the highest res, and it looked outstanding, but me being nearly blind couldn't read the writing so went back back to 1024x768 and am currently at this spot where I have to choose one door out of three...umm...
