Dear Larian Studios,

the positive feedback first: you created the best game that I have played in 30 years of gaming. I bought the early access the day it came out and I loved every minute so far. I cannot wait for the next playthrough.

That being said, I'd like to add some things that would improve the experience even further.

1.) Difficulty

I feel that there needs to be another level of difficulty above tactician. There are those of us (and I don't think we're the 0.001%) that use theorycrafting to it's limits and coming up with very powerful combinations as a result of that. Yet there is no challenge left for us. A very good example for that is the "unfair"-difficulty in Pathfinder:Wrath of the Righteous. I really loved that because it forced me to make and use complex builds but still gave me the tools to feel powerful at the same time. Of course there will always be those how feel the difficulty is too low, yet that should really be the 0.001%, not the 5% of players.
In addition to that I'd love for you to bring back the hardcore mode from Divinity: Original Sin 2. Before playing it I would never have thought how much I'd enjoy the thrill of having only one savegame. Considering that Baldurs Gate 3 has far more terminal consequences in dialogues, it may not be the best idea to have the savegame delete itself on death. You could still limit it to one quicksave and one autosave for example.

2.) Economy

That is probably my biggest criticism of the game. Picking up Items is meaningless. Gold is mostly meaningless. Why? Because you can just steal everything - including the gold - from the vendor of choice. A little illusion here, an invisibility spell there and you do not have to pick up any non rare item ever again. That is too easy. It would feel okay if the venodrs would have 1-2 special items you can steal, but having their whole trading inventory for grabs is a little game breaking. The best example I've seen so far comes from a Mod for the german game "Gothic 2" called "Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos" (If you haven't played it, check it out. It is awesome!). even if you picked up everything, stole everything and sold everything to a good price, there was always something to buy to upgrade your character, because the game forced you to choose. You could pickpocket from vendors but only certain items and only once (or maybe twice at best). Gold felt meaningful from the first minute arriving as a shipwreck (sound familiar? wink ) to the last minute as a fully armed hero.

3.) Party composition

In short - We.Need.More.Evil.Bastards.
While I like the party members a lot (even Astarion, who I criticized heavenly after the first early access for being too clichee), I feel like the heartless monstrosities among us lack company. I mean - who is really evil here? Astarion if you want to, Lae'Zel from a certain standpoint, Minthara for sure, but she comes at chapter 2, Shadowheart... ehhhhhh well....naaaaa. As a "good" player you get to keep everyone except for Minthara (+ you get Halsin instead). As an evil player you have fewer options to choose from. Maybe give us a chaotic evil Halfling Artificer in a definitive edition? wink
I pretty much miss characters like Korgan, Edwin or Viconia (yeah yeah, I know, don't need to tell me) who praised you for being a jerk to everyone.

I hope this helps, and again - thank you for your hard work. I cannot stress this enough: you made the best game there ever was. You're my ogre-in-a-barn-loving-heroes!
