As a seasoned veteran of rpg's, a game has to be pretty good to get my approval. DD overall, was quite enjoyable. Unfortunately the ending, true for so many rpg's of late (NWN the most notable), was disappointing, and far too easy. It's not unreasonable to measure a rpg's quality on how easy it is for the warrior character to finish the game, as warriors are the easiest and usually require the least amount of preperation to continue further into to the game. At all times in DD I had my eye on the prize, never stopping and thinking "should I be doing this yet". Most notably, the Frost mod on my sword, allowed me to take on bosses much earlier than I thought I should be. The only thinks which caused me grief were the dragon riders, of which, I encountered four during the game. Of course, the game is totally different when playing a wizard, but I don't think the game is good enough for me to try another character class.
Still, not bad overall.
