Greetings!
This is my first ever post here on this forum and first of all I wanted to say a big thank you to Larian and everyone involved in Baldur's Gate for their hard work. I love the game and I'm so excited for everything that's still coming to it, be it a new patch, DLC, Definitive Edition, whatever.
After I finished my first playthrough though, a question popped into my head, which I hoped could be answered here, because I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to DND lore.

I hope somebody can explain that to me. If it was just a design/writing choice, or if he really is that weak and can't meddle with the mindflayers and their parasites.

Non expert, but what you have to know is that in true D&D, the cure for the tadpole would have been . In game, this is handwaved because . There's really no reason for the player to indulge his "schemes".

The game makes a point of telling us he's a cambion... and their schemes are imperfect... but I too did not expect that flavour.
