I was just curious as to your preference when it comes to playing BG3. What typically is the "sex" you pick and why?

My preference is always Female;) If I'm going to stare at a character's butt, backside, etc.. For hours in end. I want the view to be pleasing LoL! For the record, I don't like playing Male Characters by default because I don't like staring at a cartoon dude's butt.
Does anyone else want to share?

First planned character was supposed to be a female half elf arcane trickster… but they’re very gimped. So i rolled a male drow thief.

What is nonbinary Not defined as a Male or Female. There are people out their in the REAL WORLD that don't like labels LOL! I forgot Transgender too. And thanks for sharing:D

I typically pick female, but I did make a non-binary drow who was assigned female at birth, because I thought role-playing someone with that background would make for a fun character.

I don't typically pick anything. It depends on the context and the game.

I pick male because I want the character to represent me and I don’t look at my video game characters’ butts.

Depends entirely on the type of character i'm making or the theme I'm working with while making them.
Butts is butts, I don't discriminate.

Female. Male models tend to look like ass.

You could just make a poll for this, would of been faster.

Depends on game, story, romance options... I like to create female strength characters because the idea of a petite female pancaking everything with the biggest piece of iron I can find, is kinda hilarious to me.

Does anyone else want to share? I mean... how often you actually zoom in just to stare at butt? Mostly you're looking at their head. If this is DAO it would make sense but in this game, I don't know. Especially considering there is no good male companion romance (imo).

I prefer to play male. I am extremely disinterested in female butts, or most kind of butts for that matter. I also don’t feel represented by a female character on screen just because they are female, as in real life I don’t happen to run around waving swords and magic at anyone who pisses me off, and I am usually not acting as a cleptomaniac.
I also find that in most games the writing is either gender neutral or fits male characters more and most attempt at make the MC sound like a female tends to end up seriously cringe worthy. I must admit this seems to have been improved a lot in the past few years, but it still happens. I also have ptsd since Anomen and male MC’s tend to have much better written romance options - again this is something that is steadily improving these days (just look at Gale and Astarion) but thankfully these romances nowadays just tend to ignore the players gender.
Who knows, one day I might end up playing a female character, but for now I am a female gamer strictly playing male characters only.
That being said, the BG3 actually doesn’t take your gender into account. The only conversation I found so far where it did matter was where you can tell Mol that you are not her Mother/Father, and that is it. As far as the world of BG3 is concerned your gender is your business, which is really nice.

I typically choose female characters in games. It's just my preference and not because I'm trying to replicate myself in the virtual world. Ever seen the movie Surrogates? If only we could live vicariously through other personas in real life too! Just to clarify, I'm more of a legs person than a butt enthusiast. And as for how frequently I zoom in on my character... well, let's not delve into that, shall we?

I create characters. Sometimes they are male, sometimes they are female. None of these characters are like me, or meant to be like me.

Since there are only two genders, male and female would be the only option. I chose male for my first playthough. On my second I may chose female.
