Since the patch #3 from today I get an error message with the error code: 516 every time I try to save the game. If I then try to load an old savegame the game crashes.
I have read that the error code 516 is due to a lack of memory on the hard disk. This is not the case with me, I have 1.6 TB free.
I was looking forward to playing the game at the weekend, but no, the developers have to release a patch on a Friday, which is totally buggy and bad. The game ran so well until now, but after every patch anew, crashes or errors...
This is no fun dear developers, I could have done without the stupid mirror.
Please fix that.

Yes, just saw your thread. Posted almost at the same time. That with the vendor could really be the problem. I tried to save right after the trade. Hope we get help soon.

Is the drive with the free 1.6TB your C: drive?

Every patch makes my game worse lol. After patch two the game would crash after about 30 seconds from loading a save, now not only can I not even load saves sometimes it crashes on the main menu. After patch 4 my pc might not even start.

Yes, it is the C drive. It seems to be the same for AlexB.

seconed time got all the way to loading a save file CTD........dam,

So my game will save. But if I talk to a trader, it won't save after.

Same I get a Failed to Save Error Code 516. Only started after Patch 3

No issues here but I only tested with the vendor in the Druid Grove. I tried both trading and bartering and was able to save without issues afterwards. Loading savgames works as well. Is this bug limited to specific vendors maybe?

Mine was the grove. Tried the little tiefling kid and the gnome. I'm bad at names.

I'm not saying you are wrong about the 1.6TB but have you checked how much free space you have since the patch? Clutching at straws here but maybe the update somehow managed to eat your free space (1.6TB is a lot of eating though). Another thing to check would be how big your save file folder. (I've not updated but for reference my entire Larian Studios folder is 5.98GB (the saves are about half of that)).

I am in Act 2 and I get the 516 error when I tested with other vendors. I think its vendors in general that causes the issue.

A question. This that bug happend to anyone who doesn't have mods. Because i tried without it and it work i managed to save after an interaction with a vendor. But it might be because that specific vendor wasnt bug ? Or maybe because it was an old save ?

No mods on my end and I can't trigger the bug, at least not with the one vendor I tested in the Grove.

It may be mods, yeah.

- With mods enabled I got the vendor bug reliably.
- I thought it might have been one of the Dye mods since that was all I bought from the vendor, but even with those disabled the save error occurred.
- I purged all mods and tried with the game I'd been testing on and it wouldn't even load anymore (I think the code was 522)
- I used a very old save that I hadn't had many mods installed with and could buy from every vendor in the grove and save reliably.

So, don't get too angry at Larian, seems like it may be my addiction to mods that is the issue. Now, the rampaging Ox is probably NOT that.

I went and disabled a few of my mods. I got it narrowed down to Bags Bags Bags.

I have the same issue and I dont have bags bags bags, I'm trying to find which one but now the game wont even start.

I am getting ERROR 516 only AFTER selling to any vender. I can save just fine before that, anywhere. As soon as I sell anything, the error begins.

IF you are getting this only after you trade try this:

Load a good save
Go to trader
DO not trade through dialogue
Trade through the trade icon on bottom LEFT
Do small transaction
leave trade
Try to save

If that worked, you should be fixed, it worked for all my characters...and also fixed the dialogue trade now too.
