So you can't change the appearance of hirelings which is extremely odd because they have a bare bounds background and no real story involvement or personality.

I'd like though for us to just make our own hireling at least. Idk why they have to only be preset. Custom Hireling would be really nice. You make their race, class, skills, etc like you would your custom character. Currently the magic mirror is useless if you don't play custom/dark urge.

It's odd we can't even change superficial things about origins cuz anyone can change their hair. I get not wanting to do more radical change but you could alter the appearance of origin characters in DoS2. So while miraculously BG3 is superior to DoS2 in most ways I think it could still give us some goodies.

I really want a full Gith team, and I can't really do that as is unless I want to gimp myself. And there is no lone wolf perk in Bg3 like in DoS2. I know that's not a thing in D&D but they do make a few others "homebrew" things so would be nice.

Agreed! Please Larian. The mirror system is already built out. Obviously the origin companions are great, but on future playthroughs, having a full custom party would be awesome.

Another half baked puzzling decision. This "mirrors" on what we have for DOS2 basically. Actually, it was way more flexible in DOS2, as you can change your companion's looks.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

They are probably working on this and ran into bugs. Imho the functionality to change race can't be too different from the disguise self spell. But it's hard to say without knowing how they coded it.

I dont think it's fair to compare dos2 mirror functionality. Your race only affected dialog options. Bg3 race determines dialog options AND cutscenes.

Wyll and shadowheart models are clearly the main problem with customizing origin characters, without going into spoilers.

Would be nice if we could change body type and sex. You can change faces, genitals and identity. Why not body type?
