After this latest patch I have a bug where I can't dig, I can't go to camp unless I hit long rest,

MINOR SPOILERS: I can't progress the storyline in the creche. When I entered with Laezel with me as my companion, they let us in verbally (talking to any guard and they say "you may enter"), but when we physically walked to the door (not the side doors that are locked, the main door) we immediately were attacked by the guards. The rest of the creche isn't immediately hostile. Also, when I got to the inquisitor and produced the artifact it soft-locks, I don't start talking to vlaakith like I should. I have just had to kill all the githyanki in the creche to progress the story. This will really suck if I have to restart as I've almost completed act 1 again, and I am really enjoying this run.

I will try a re-install as I've tried pretty much everything else ( verify files, I am not running mods, I've restarted steam and my computer, and loading from the start of the monastery ).

Bump, I am still having all these Issues after a reinstall. No matter how far back I load the save I still can't dig, can't go to camp except if I press long rest, 50/50 chance than an interactable world item will not work, NPC's in the creche are bugged to ignore that they just said you could enter their place only to attack you as you approach the door, can't finish creche quest because I can't click the planecaster.

Experiencing the exact same issue regarding the planecaster.

In my run MC went down during the initial fight with the Inquisitor. I've seen multiple people mention this as the cause for the conversation after not triggering. But no amount of reloading to earlier saves seems to fix the issue and start the conversation.

I've tried:
- giving him the Artifact
- denying him the artifact and killing him
- killing him without talking to him
- making sure I talked to him as MC with artifact in inventory
- killing him last during the fight
- being close to the planecaster with the whole party as we kil him/give him the artifact.

Yet no luck. Also tried getting Lathanders blood first and then coming back to kill them. Didn't help.

I don't have the time to start a full run again and would really like to finish this questline before moving on. Lae'zel is threating to leave the party if I don't complete her thing before continuing the main quest.

RESOLVED !!!

I had been researching this bug for days. I had tried every suggestion I had read to fix this. I had no luck with any of it. I had triggered the Vlaakith scene in previous play-throughs, and could do so by loading those saves, so the only variable had to be something different specifically about this play-through.

The problem was Volo's Ersatz Eye.

In other play-throughs I did not let Volo replace my eye. In this play-through I had allowed him to do so. I loaded a save from before the eye surgery, rushed back through to the Inquisitor scene, and Vlaakith triggered properly now that I did not have the magical eye.

I hope this helps others who have been frustrated by this bug.
