It looks like the last BF dungeon level 3 will be a hot one with all bosses and all but one quest items there--can't wait.

A few questions remain:

Every once in a while while moving characters I hear a "beep" that does not relate to being encumbered (characters arn't) or flags to level-up or look at the skills or quests or anything that I can figure out. What do these irregular beeps mean? Am I moving the characters to fast for the game to keep up?

What are bone spears? They look like rings and they don't do damage directly but require agility of 17 which I don't have yet so I cannot equip 'em. I never heard of a ring described as a bone spear.

Books and notes and the like? Once I read a book is there any reason to keep it around in the inventory? The merchants don't buy them. Some disappear when read. Some I will keep for later use I suspect--they aren't real heavy. But many books I think I'm done with. What is the best way to dispose of them? Cart them to Act II and drop them on the ground.

What essential things carry over from Act I to Act II or between Acts that I MUST take with me?

Thanks.

Bone spear rings are a known glitch in the inventory system, generated mostly in the BF.

There are a few books / manuscripts required for quests, but in most cases once you've read one you do not need it. If you keep anything that looks unique, you can drop it before leaving for the next act, or once you get there, since AFAIK there are no cross-act quests.

Take the obvious stuff with you between acts: backup equipment, crystal bag, teleporter stones once you have them (only in act 2 and 3), loot to sell, etc.

Thanks. Okay, we are level 12 with 5 keys left over with no use found and about ready to blow the forge! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

The "beep" is something I get too. It's the same one used when your keyboard buffer fills up (such as when your system's jammed and your keyboard doesn't respond)

I'd suggest it's a behind-the-scenes bug that's telling the computer a key's been pressed when it's not listening for it. I'd ignore it.
