DirectX Error
The game has encountered an unrecoverable DirectX error and will shut down.
This error may be triggered by reasons that are not related to Baldur's Gate 3.

Please try the following before restarting:
- Disable any screen recording software you may be running
- Make sure all your Windows updates have been installed
- Make sure you have the latest graphics drivers installed
- Disable SLI/CrossFireX

You could also try contacting developer support with your gold.log and your DxDiag.txt.
If you make significant changes to your system (like installing updates or drivers), please send us before and after versions of those files.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Error: DXGl ERROR_ DEVICE_ REMOVED
Description: Hardware device removed.
Reason: DXGI_ ERROR_ DEVICE_ HUNG

-no screen recording software
-Windows updates are new
-graphics drivers are new (Tried reinstalling it)
-Not even have SLI/CrossFireX
-no mods, haven't downloaded a mod since I downloaded the game either in the EA stage or the official stage.
-removed EA version before installing the full version
-Game file integrity is fine

Never had such frequent and random DX crashes before Patch3, very random I can't confirm what triggered the crash.
All I know is that when I first got into the game, when I just do something random, or even take a walk, it crashed.
But then sometimes it plays smoothly for ten minutes or so (doing pretty much the same things I was doing before it crashed) and then without warning it crashes again at some point...
And notice that when enter the game after the update, the mini-map will be black before I try switching scenes?
Also the settings screen UI is leaning to the left? I wonder if it's a bug?

My computer was even just replaced this month, and all the hardware can be confirmed to be of a new version and free of problems.
Even my old computer, a backward old computer with hardware so outdated that the game barely carries at minimum quality lags frequently, lags so much that I need to quit and reopen the game every time I switch scenes to play slightly more smoothly, and takes least ten minutes every time I F8 the last save! Such computers never even had this problem!

I'm so confused??

I've got exactly the same, spent the last few hours trying everything to fix it, cleaned out old Nvidea GPU drivers & reinstalled latest, cleaned again & rolled back to previous, windows update, verified game files several times. Cleared User files in users/appdata/local/Larian Studios . Nut sure what else to do, I see a few posts online that's the same error, one says to edit the registry but I don't want to do that. I tried reinstalling directx runtime & windows 11 said it's all up to date. I can sometimes get the game to run for 10 secs before it crashes.

Tired switchign to Vulkan that crashes too. Tried limiting FPS in Nvidea control panel & also tried running Nvdea control panel in debug mode, apparently that forces the GPU to run at standard clocks, I'm not overclocking it anyway but that's another recommended thing to try, now I've run out & my day off to play is spent trying to fix the game frown

Any other suggestions? I never had a problem before..

Update: I tried the registrary fix setting a TDR value, it still crashes, the search continues..

Not sure it helps but after spending hours trying every fix in the book I increased my GPU voltage I used a GPU tweaks app to make sure it wasn't being boosted & noticed the voltage..that fixed it for me.!

Wow you are, really making a lot of sacrifices...... thank you......
I gave up after an hour or two of initial attempts, and I also gave up because I didn't want to touch the computer too deep in case I broke it ......:(
Glad to hear you found a way that worked for you! But unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working for me, I'll just wait for the new official fix, it feels like some deep setting in the game itself has gone wrong on its own?
Considering so many other bugs and all sorts of big problems maybe it's okay to wait a little bit...
