most broken quest so far.
1. no chance to solve without fighting
2. only way to get to the upper floor and not getting aggro of entire city is utterly clunky. This roof crane hole is so annoying to pass or fight through it.
3. even if you manage to kill banites, there is a high chance that while you checkin the bodies the guards will come and... the antire city going aggro.
Sorry, but this quest at the moment is an utter garbage with horrible design. Can't believe it's still not fixed somehow.

Also there doesn't seem to be any way to interact with or help the child whose parents have been murdered right outside... while a squad of guards are literally 20 meters away just milling about!

Another annoying thing is it's actually possible to have a paladin fall during this fight if you accidentally kill one of the guards or the commoners who don't have the good sense to flee when combat breaks out. >.<;;;

I haven't found a way to resolve this "peacefully", either. There are documents inside that could act as proof of what's been going on and I did manage to sneak them out of there without starting a fight or setting everything ablaze ... but it seems like the game expects me to burn the place down, so to speak. Perhaps they had another type of resolution planned, but so far, I haven't found it.

That said: I wouldn't bother with the open window in the top floor. Just go in through the front door, talk to the main salesperson (pretending like you're part of the cult and giving him the password that the landlord dude gives you when you intimidate him in Sharess' Caress). Then walk up the stairs and talk/trade with the folks on the first floor.

Next I went and made two of my guys invisible (think it was sneaky Minsc and my sorcerer Tav) and snuck upstairs (top floor). Up there, I'm afraid, you can't do much besides start the fight. Just be careful what your targets are standing next to. I managed to set off a mine laying on a table by using Ice Knife on the enemy standing next to it (rear area of the top floor). Once the slaughter started, only the folks inside the building turned hostile. The Fists and Steel Watcher just outside never aggroed on me.

Afterward, I snuck Minsc into the building's basement. Nothing too spectacular down there, but there is one area that has a ton of smokepowder barrels. Since I don't know of any way to make a delayed fuse or something like that, I'm not sure what I would've been supposed to do with those barrels. It seemed like a setup to "covertly" blow the place up, but I'm not sure this would be possible without also blowing up whomever I sneak in there to do the job. Perhaps a summons with fire-spells could do it? But then again... I'm not even sure this would blow the whole building up, so...
