Hi !

I try to understand every advantage and disadvantage situation in the game, it's ok at 90% BUT :

Sometimes with Astarion and a +1 short sword, I have advantage on ennemie and it's just written in green under the enemy name : weapon enchantment ( or something close, I play in French ).

Does every single enchanted weapon gives you advantage ? should be too powerful so I think it's not so easy , and I'm pretty sure sometimes I don't have this "free" advantage in some others fights.

In my exemple it's against hyenas in first act. Is it because wild animals don't wear armor ?

Thanks for your answers !

The +1 means plus 1 to attack and damage rolls. Advantage comes from things such as attacking from stealth, from high ground or attacking an enemy who is disadvantaged (prone, stunned, paralysed etc). You roll two die and use the higher of the two.

Thank you, but maybe I was not clear.

I know want an advantage is , I want to understand what is a " weapon enchantment " advantage . I understood its coming from my +1 short sword , but why doesn't it seems to proc on every opponent, and on every fight ?

Is it just one particular weapon or is it something that happens on different weapons?

+1 is an enchantment. There are other types of enchantment which are conditional, e.g.

The Shortsword of First Blood is an uncommon shortsword that deals more damage to enemies who haven't been injured yet

Break the Unbroken: Deal an additional 1d8 Damage Types Piercing damage to targets that still have all their hitpoints.
https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Shortsword_of_First_Blood

So this extra 1d8 only procs if the target is at full HP.

My party has gear which gives an advantage to hit or damage if they are in shadow and I have gear which does it if the enemy is in light.

The green thing listed the condition of which your attack would take advantage from, like +1 enhancement weapon, item that give you +1 for all type of attack, it will show you the likelihood to hit the enemy.

The difference with double roll advantage is that you *need* to have superior advantage over your enemy, that means often times these advantages listed will not give you additional advantage over enemy, you either need to sneak, being invisible etc.
