When you go to break Karlach out of prison, she will urge you to unlock her cell door, only then will she talk to you properly.

And when you talk to her with anyone else but your MC, she will tell you to talk to her with the MC.

And before you can do that, if the guard sees her in her cell, even with the door closed, the guard will start a fight with her, forcing you to break her out by force.

Also even if you unlock her cell with MC around she will insist on talking to you regardless of where the guard is.

And most the dialogues in prison are way too long consider there's an active guard on patrol.
