What happened in this video happened exactly to me. I had a very high, almost maxed out approval with Gale, got the private river-side conversation, and he treated me like we had really low approval?? I went on tiktok, and found multiple people who unfortunately had the same experience as me :((( man i would rather him fall in love with me over nothing than have him be mean to me over nothing :((

Patch 3 seems to have bugged Gale yet again. This happened to me too and I’m romancing him so me and other Gale romancers are putting our playthroughs on hold until they fix this. Others have reported that the bug where he repeats the conversation after you first give him magic item is back, preventing weave scene being triggered. He also apparently repeats a conversation if a certain event doesn’t happen at the end of Act 2

I've seen this too, no matter what the approval rating with Gale he always treats you badly. There are two conversations he repeats now as well.

Same here, have the highest approval with him and his scene as soon as you reach moonrise towers has him saying that him and Tav are not close at all, and the morning after that scene he's downright mean if you interact with him regarding the night before.
