Hello everyone.
After patch 3, my game has been Crashing To Desktop when entering the Lower City area.
I noticed it after
beating Ansur and Gortach in Rivington and trying to go back with both Netherstone to Baldurs Gate.
However, I don't think it's limited to this situation. I loaded an older save from a few hours earlier, where I was in Baldur's Gate, several quests earlier. The game loads normally and doesn't crash if I stay in the Lower City. However, If I quick-travel to Rivington and then try to go back to the Lower City, it crashes.
What happens is that the game gets stuck at a 33% completion on the loading screen for a minute, and then CTD.
I started a new game and quickly made my way to the Underdark and back just to confirm it wasn't happening on any area transition. No problems there. It seems to be affecting Lower City only.
I tried several fixes, the usual stuff: updated my system, updated my drivers, checked game files on Steam, tried to skip the launcher, tried to turn on Slow HDD Mode, lowering the graphics, disabling dynamic crowds, etc... Nothing worked.
In game, I tried going back to the lower city via the usual route instead of teleportation, switching party members, leaving items behind, etc... Again, nothing worked.
Of relevance, I'm using a Nvidia 3070 Ti and a Intel 11400 processor, 32gb of ram. The only peculiar thing about my system is that I disable VRAM and rely only on hard-RAM for caching, but even after trying to enable it, problem persists.
Hopefully someone has a workaround? Or maybe someone can confirm if the recent changes to Lower City Performance is causing this?
Thanks in advance.
