Since patch 3 (both on PC and on Mac) I started experiencing a wierd bug.
When I recruit Astarion from my camp and get back to the location I was in, Astarion is always on "a different floor" than the other characters.
It's happened on Rosymorn Monastery where the party was inside the Morninglord chaper whilst Astarion was found on the balcony above, and at the Last Light Inn where the party was inside and Astarion on the roof.

I've been experiencing this too with various different characters even in Act 3 with Hotfix #9 now. It seems to happen when a member somehow gets separated from a party either after a dialog or going back from camp. Then one of them looks missing but are actually standing on the roof of the building with no easy way to bring them down unless using something like the Feather Fall spell.

I have this too. Weirdly, this worked out in my favor as I recruited Gale at camp and had him join the rest of my party at the Ilmater temple. Gale warps in on the rooftop while everyone else is inside. I learn from this that Gale has a unique cinematic on that particular roof.
