Karlach a very nice companion, but her quest still feels unfinished. Yeah, we can give the infernal iron to Dammon to perform a partial repair of her engine and send her to Avernus in the end, but we dont get a satisfying resolution out of all this. Dammon can't properly fix Karlach's infernal engine, and descent into Avernus is a suicide in her and Wyll's case, because Zariel will use all her power and just smash them almost instantly. I completely disagree with those members of the team who called it a "deserved ending" (if you're reading this: guys, really, why are you so heartless?). Karlach did not deserve a painful death at the hands of an archdevil! shadowheartdisapprove
Is there a solution? Of course! We just need a high-level priest (who canonically exist in Baldur's Gate city) who can cast a "Resurrection" - 7th-level spell.

From spell's description:
Quote
This spell closes all mortal wounds and restores any missing body parts.

So, what's the plan? We can kill Karlach, remove the infernal engine from her body, deliver the corpse to a priest and pay them to cast a spell. Karlach is with us once again, but this time without this cursing engine. Alternatively, Withers could also cast this spell, even if it would be more expensive than minor revivifying (1000 or 2000 gold for example).

Larian Studios, please hear out a huge fan of yours who played every game in the Divinity series and was very hyped for the release of BG3! Please add this option with one of the future patches. Karlach deserves a properly good ending, and the setting itself allows it.

Right now there is an option where Zariel might not be a problem for long, anymore.

That said, it would also be nice if there was some way to find someone who could bring us to the elemental plane of fire, should keep Karlach's engine running just fine, and there's some places that are much less hostile than Avernus.

Dammon mentioned "magically infused coolant" could be the solution. There is a component for a Staff in game where if you gather all parts become a staff of frost.

I propose simpler solution, easier to implement with what already exist in the game:

Buff the item, but if you use the component to "fix" Karlach, you no longer can assemble it.

The buff must be significant which making the exchange worth it should they choose to "doom" Karlach to Avernus.

Councellor Florrick's favorite Warlock.

Also a good option. I think when we find this component either Karlach or Narrator should say something like "it can be useful, think twice before assembling the staff".

Just let her replace her engine with the one the Steel Watchers use. We are explicitly told it's an improved version of her engine which can survive just fine in Faerun. Then we go to the place where they make Steel Watchers and kill all the Banites and (potentially/probably) liberate the Gondians, who are the ones building the Steel Watchers. It is absolutely deranged to present this as a problem with no win-win solution when you are literally telling players what the solution is and not letting them do it.

Agree. Probably its a worst part of all game that greatly spoils impressions. Rest of the BG3 (except for bugs) very cool and Karlach's story seems weird.

I'd really love to save a divine intervention as a lvl 10+ priest to save her
