One thing's for sure, if I have to repeat forty minutes of this fucking game because of a goddamned bug I'm uninstalling it. This is bullshit.

So, you got the moonlantern. Check.
1. Are you carrying the moonlantern in one of your hand slots? Like, in place of a weapon?
--if so, it should be working.
--in fact, you should see a radius of light surrounding whoever's holding the lantern.
--if you have companions outside that circle of light then they are not protected by the light. (roughly outside the light. there's a little leeway, but not much.)

2. Is the moonlantern not in your hand, but just in your inventory?
--you might want to equip it.

3. Did you free the pixie inside the moonlantern?
--she should have given you and the companions with you at the time her pixie blessing, which allow you safe passage through the shadow curse.
--she also should have given you a feywild bell that you can use.

4. Do you have new companions with you who weren't with you when you got the pixie blessing, assuming you got the pixie blessing?
--if so, you may want to have those characters ring the bell to get the pixie blessing.

5. Or is something else altogether happening?
