In the spider forest there have been a couple of random incidents and now one regular incident of those DD hopping spring-bong BOMBs. This one in particular comes out of a spider cocoon which has a sword in it I would at least like to sell if not use.

I can't remember how to deal with these darn things. But I can't seem to take the damage--either character. I tried using a bow from a distance but the character runs up to the cacoon. Wasn't there some way of keeping the missile thrower at a distance from the target.

How do I get this item. Also there is a chest all by itself in the southwestern part of spider forest that is locked. Where is the key or is this one another red herring?

Thanks.

Trail bombs are easy to avoid if you are farther way when they trigger, or are already moving. There is another spider bomb in the forest that I tried getting a summoning doll to take (unfortunately, one of the patches removed the dolls' ability to open trapped containers). It triggered the trap fine, but the spider mine veered off and took out a frog.

Trapped containers are a little trickier. Leave one character at the hermit's cave (etc) and stand by the trapped cocoon with the second. Pause the game and open the cocoon, then switch to the first character and enter the hermit's cave, to teleport the second character away from the trap.

The key for that chest in on one of the teleporter islands in the burnt forest (north east section). There is not much of value in the chest, though.

Technique worked great. Did it right the first time. But discovered one refinement...when in pause have the character pick up items from chest--then switch and enter building--then go off pause. The party was curious and went back to the cocoon and discovered the Trail Bomb still inside the "empty" cocoon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />
