Hi there!

I thoroughly enjoy playing Baldur's gate 3 and once in a while, I like to play with friends. At first I was reluctant to play with anyone in my main save because you couldn't remove characters from the party, but after the Withers' Wardrobe was added in, I was happy to invite people in. The problem I'm having is that I like to play with different people at different times. When a new player joins in, the game automatically gives them a character from the wardrobe and doesn't allow them to make new character, so they're stuck using someone else's.

It would be really nice if...
-there was an option to make a new character regardless of who was in the wardrobe
-or alternatively a way to change their race / name
-or just delete the character from the wardrobe so new one can be made.

Edit:
One fix I did find is a mod which allows the addition or removal of NPCs, (it's called "Recruit any NPC") and then removed the mod from the game after. It's not an ideal solution, but it works.

YES, also I'm having an issue where after using withers wardrobe, those characters don't follow anyone when grouped

I've seen other people mentioning that too - that their character's being in the wardrobe breaks their AI.

You also can create up to 4 player characters on PC by shutting down Steam and loading the executable directly multiple times on the same computer, use direct connect with up to 4 instances running at the same time and you can create 4 characters, then the joining player can be any of those 4. You can do this yourself to "consume" the 2 current characters and then have someone join to create a third, etc.

But yeah, this seems to initiate a bug they thought they fixed where one doesn't follow. This isn't 100% repeatable by putting characters in the wardrobe, it's only happening on the first one I put in, others I swap in and out still follow

However really there should be an option with Withers to create a new PC
