It makes no sense to me that the Devs forced us to choose between going down an "EVIL" or GOOD path when it comes to recruiting Minthara and Halsin. Minthara for one thing isn't even evil, the only reasons she wants to wipe out the grove is because she's under the absolutes influence. When you recruit her in act 2 after helping her attack the grove she asks you why you helped her commit such an evil and heinous act and she explains how she would never have wanted to do that. That automatically destroys the thought of an "evil" playthrough with her because she's not evil which means you just lost out on three good companions for nothing. They also made it so you cant defeat her with killing her in act 1, cant trick her into failing her mission and letting the Tieflings escape through deceit, or save her from the Absolutes influence in Act 1 just like you can do in Act 2. And to make things worse, when someone figured out how to get the both Halsin and Minthara without losing any other companions and save the Tieflings in your play through with a glitch they forcefully shut that down with the major update that kills of one of the companions if they detect both of them in your camp. Like at this point just fix the game so that we can actually get Minthara without sacrificing half our companion roster for no reason or just remove her from the game entirely because the current recruitment method for her feels super forced for no reason and doesn't make an ounce of sense.

You do know they said they would be having the Voice Actors back to make Voice Acting changes? Plus that's because Minthara is enthralled by the absolute so she may not be evil but the "god" controlling her is. This means that if you want Minthara, you have to kill the Druid's and Tieflings. You have no idea she's not really evil. You may not like it but that's how it is.

Sure maybe, if she lives through Act 1 and makes it to Act 2 have a option to help her without killing the grove but that still means you don't help the grove.

There's already a mod to recruit her without killing the grove, and people have found dialogue files for her commenting on the refugees in Act 2 as if they survived, so it seems not just very possible that they could rework it but extremely likely that it was the original plan.

Personally I hope they do this. For me one of the biggest draws to BG3 are the companion relationships and Minthara is such a wonderfully voiced and incredibly intricate character, but locking her away behind some non-existent "evil playthrough" is a terrible mistake.

As usual I'll draw a comparison with Star Wars KOTOR series, imagine if the devs locked Visas Marr or Juhani behind exclusively Dark Side choices... we'd entirely miss out on such intricately written characters and more importantly their fascinating redemption arcs.

So if not with any elaborate dialogues, then at least making Minthara a special exception to the knock out rule would be enough, so that she actually continues to exist in the world and we find her in ACT 2 once again.

BG3 doesn't have an "evil playthrough" as none of the choices lock the player into any "evil paths" that are not available otherwise. There's just one bad choice that locks away Minthara and that's it, the rest of the game plays exactly the same for both good or evil characters. With plenty of variable nuance naturally, but in Minthara's case there is no nuance. It's either live or die.
