My game crashed after I changed my V snyc to triple buffering from double. I believe I also changed to windowless boarders fullscreen mode? My game no longer launches past the load screen - I believe both of these settings shut it down.

I can't access the graphic settings at all, so I am wondering if I am able to change the graphic settings from the file directory?

I have reinstalled the game to no avail, and also "reset" the graphics in the Larian launcher.

Try deleting your config files then relaunch the game, this will reset all of your configuration back to the default settings:

The path for configs is: C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public

Thanks for suggestion. That didn't seem to work. It loads up until the "press any key", then freezes as the camera pans down after pressing any key.

I do have 100 hours in the game without it crashing -from what I remember it was when I switched to triple buffering and then to the windowless boarders. It immediately crashed and I haven't been able to get back into the graphics options to switch anything back.

HOWEVER: I have reinstalled and I have deleted the configs. I have tried both Vulkan and DX11.

TRY THIS FIRST: I dont know what platform your game is under but when you run the launcher, the launcher should have a settings button somewhere, for GOG its in the lower left hand corner and looks like a cog symbol. Scroll down to the bottom of the menu and under system settings try the "RESET GRAPHICS SETTINGS" option. You can also try to reset the launcher if that dosent work but give that a shot first.

If that has no effect then...

If you successfully deleted the correct files you should have been prompted for the EULA right away as the game was loading and then it would have asked for you to change your contrast settings as well with the slider.

Their is also another profile file in the "PlayerProfiles" directory that may be the cause if you havent tried to delete that one you may want to rename it first.

If none of the above works and the game isnt prompting you for the EULA agreement, then you may have something else going on besides just a config issue.

One other thing if you want to cover all your bases, you can rename the Larian Studios root directory and see if that has any effect, you can always go back and name it back to the original if not, but it sounds to me like one of the files that the game loads there is corrupt or your system just isnt compatible with. In any case, its something you can check off your possibility list.

I believe the game launcher *should* reinstall that directory tree with default files if it sees its missing during launch, but if Im wrong you may have to rerun an integrity check for the installer to replace them.
