Hello!
I have had a multitude of super stressful issues since the last large patch. It started on patch day in my solo game, where I couldn't load into any of my previous save files even after verifying and reinstalling. I had to log in on another pc, make a new save file on my campaign, and I was able to load that from my main pc. I haven't had many other issues in solo other than if I try to load between worms crossing region and Baldurs gate my game crashes and won't load, so I have to just not go back to that other region to finish up any quests. I have contacted support, reinstalled the game, verified the files 10+ times, cleared steam cache and a bunch of other things. Nothing has helped.

ALSO since that day, and the even more tedious issues is that multiplayer is COMPLETELY broken for me. I was running a campaign with friends that I was hosting, we loaded it back up and it switches all our characters between us, when we try to trade the game crashes. FURTHERMORE, if we try to reload once in a multiplayer game it gets stuck at 80% and eventually crashes. We have tried different combinations of pcs, locations, using a phone hot spot, different hosts, today we are in a different house on different pcs and it is still just character swapping us and crashing if we try to trade back.

I have contacted support to no avail, posted in other places, etc. Super unfortunate. I was really enjoying the game but the lack of any kind of help or acknowledgement from support has kind of left me feeling sour and disappointed, a small general acknowledgement that they are working on fixing these things or even ROLLING BACK this broken a$$ patch until they can fix it would be really nice but at this point, I cant really finish a game that went from one of my all time favorites to just frustrating and stressful in a matter of days.

I really want to go back to enjoying the game, does anyone have any clue what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks for reading sorry I am a little pissy I have dedicated hours to troubleshooting this and have found nothing I can do.

I am one of the three friends in this group. Something to point out is that our other friend and I can make a campaign and reload, character swap, etc with no issues. It's only when we're grouped with Violetta when things start to break.

Another weird detail is that I was able to make another steam account, and rebuy the game on the same pc and it works just fine, so it's something specifically with my steam account or bg3 account because it's nothing on my pc.

Try deleting your player profile folders per this thread: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=905758&Board=89 , the 80% bug was one of the things that was fixed when I did that.

I can confirm that this forum link above worked.

Just in case something happens to that forum content though, or link, here are the copied and pasted conversation pieces that are important (plus if someone lands here from Google):

"Jimbobaggins81: So the issue was the computer that my partner was playing on used to have my steam account logged into it. Steam seemed to be confused on who was playing and some of my older saves were on the other computer. so what I did was go through the Larian launcher and open the player profile folder and deleted it. then I turned off the cloud saving and after that it worked. we started a new game and none of the previous issues have yet to occur. Ill keep checking back here for the next couple of days to answer any questions if I can.

Jimbobaggins81: so on both of my computers I deleted the player profile folders. I made a copy just incase because this does house your save data easy way for that is in the Larian launcher just hit the setting button at the bottom left and then scroll down and you should see a button that says player profile. When you hit that it should be showing you where your Player Profile folder is just delete it and then when you launch the game it will build you a new one. Then I the computer that my partner uses I made sure to turn off the cloud sync for the save file. Just to be clear the player profile Folder is the only thing I deleted

moumix: Ok it worked this time. I thought I had done it, but I probably didn't turn off cloud sync and it seems like it's mandatory to solve it. As soon as cloud sync is back, the issues cropped up again

anthraxmilkshake: Yeah, came back here to post that I did the same thing and it worked: moved all the app data stuff, launched the game, then copied only the save files back in. It also seemed to fix the issue of the game freezing at 80% whenever we reloaded a save mid-session"
