Hi! In a multiplayer session and my friend and I might have messed up the order of things. Her rating wasn’t high enough for Astarion to want to sleep with her during the party. Now she’s really bummed out because she thinks she’s permanently locked out of romancing him since he didn’t want her then.

Is that true? Or have there been people that managed to romance him, after the party? Will it be different than if she were to have actually slept with him at the party?

I am guessing you didn't do enough full rests at the beginning of the game. My character slept with him before even getting to the first little groups of goblins, way before the party. If it's too late for you I don't know. Do your best to raise approval. If you don't like making some of the choices he likes in conversation, pick them anyway then do whatever you want afterwards. Doing a good playthrough with him is fun.

You don’t need to sleep with him at the party! If you get his approval high enough, he’ll proposition you on his own at some point during act 1 when you talk to him. So your friend just needs to keep getting his approval up and it should trigger eventually, though it should probably be done before moving on to act 2. The romance doesn’t progress any differently than it would have if she had slept with him at the party.

Awesome. Will definitely give that a test so I can convince my friend to finish our evil playthrough! She desperately wants Astarion and I fear she won’t play if she can’t have him. Lmao.

Our main issue was that we rushed the grove. We really didn’t do anything besides clearing out the crypt and like… one group of goblins. Even forced a few unneeded long rests during that time… she just didn’t have the approval needed. I’m not sure why we didn’t bother double checking that before proceeding!
