Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Save Error 558

Has anyone else seen this save error? I noticed it on my second playthrough after Hotfix 8. I'm currently in Act 3 and cannot save anywhere other than fast travel back to Rivington from the Lower Region to save.

Yes, I have the same error. I am still in Act 1 pretty much at the end in Underdark. Tried everything, but still can't save error code 558 popping up all the time. 90% of the time I can't even load those save games. It crashes the whole game. I am playing on PS5, so no mods, no nothing.

I also have another issue, I am not sure if it's related or not. Since I have travelled to Grymforge in Underdark, both the minimap and the regular map go black (undiscovered) whenever I fast travel, go to camp, or just travel between zones. Basically, I have to rediscover everything, but the fast travel points keep unlocked.

I've never had the map thing happen but I'm on PC. Luckily I have my Bard/Urge/Illithid character I'm just starting lol. Larian is pretty good at working out these issues pretty quick so let's keep our fingers crossed!

I’m also having the same issues on PS5 in a multiplayer game. We’re in act 3 and can’t save at all. Getting the same error code. Additionally, we are having the map issue going black that’s also been mentioned in the thread.

Still no fix guys! I've tried looking through logs and can't find anything. Obviously error 558 is on a "list" Larian knows about so I don't see why they don't have public knowledge on all the errors and what they mean. Does anyone know who and how they figured out what save error 516 meant??
