Please give us broader access to Tav's "You can feed on me tonight, if you'd like" dialogue line toward Astarion, if possible!

REASONING:

1.) Trigger too specific.
The trigger enabling that line was so specific, many of us Asty-mancers have missed it. There were several equally fitting and good lines to say to him in that particular convo (way back in Act 1), even on the same level of the dialogue tree, and we did not realise that that one specific line would be the one triggering the above permanent dialogue opening option.

It would be great if the trigger could be approval-based or romance-based, or even broad enough to include all who had given him blood on bite night... or every Tav, really. Any player could change their mind about this and try it, or do it once or twice for tactical advantage or for role-play reasons.

I do wanna personally feed my vamp; after all, I'm one of the weirdoes you've created the Amulet of Silvanus for! laugh (Has the Lesser Restoration perk, that gets rid of the Bloodless status)

2.) Trigger context a bit confusing/not obvious.
The line needed for the "You can feed on me tonight, if you'd like" dialogue line to appear in the future is not really an answer to the question Astarion poses right before it, so it's a less desirable option to pick because it seems out of context.

THE TRIGGER CONTEXT:
Quote
Tav: I need to know how we'll feed you in the future.

Astarion: (...) And if I happen to drain the occasional bandit during a fight, what's the harm? They're just as dead.

Tav:
1. Alright, but I'll be watching.
2. Sounds good. Glad we could agree.
3. No, you can't feed on people! Animals only.
4. Look, I'm not against you feeding on me, but only if we talk about it first.
(Underlined font styling added by me)

Above, I did not pick option 4 because it seemed to have nothing to do with Astarion's question (Tav is neither an enemy nor a bandit after all), so I thought it was too random a line and unrelated. Also, I felt like the rule of whether or not he can feed on humanoid enemies NEEDS to be addressed, so I picked option 2.
...And I kept dutifully waiting for the feeding option line to appear (because I've heard of it in social media as a meme), maybe with an approval raise, maybe by going into Act 2, maybe only after going into Act 3, or maybe after a specific romance cut scene... waiting until I learned I've missed the trigger near the beginning of Act 1, and thus locked myself out of this option for the rest of the game.

I've seen several posts & comments on reddit and Facebook by Astarion fans lamenting the same (that they've missed the trigger because it wasn't obvious to them, kept waiting for the feeding option, and then realised too late in the game what trigger they've missed). So it would be a great change if you could make this Tav dialogue line more broadly accessible (=less specific/strict trigger).

As always, thank you for your hard work and dedication! And to anyone reading this: have a good week! smile

This whole dilemma happened to me too and I wish I had an undo button, but that dialog happens so early in the game you lose hundreds of hours just for one trigger.

Honestly I wish we could just get a second chance to offer to him, because like you said, the initial option is too ambiguous and didn't feel like a natural response.

So gross. If someone or some animal bit you enough to draw blood you'd be worried about germs and infections. This guy's been feeding on rats. Who knows what kind of faerunian herpes he's spreading about.

While I do think it should be easier and give you more opportunities to offer your neck up, the option you listed is actually the 2nd chance you get in that conversation - to choose the option you did means skipping the first opportunity.

I guess #4 does read as inappropriate since "I need to know how we're going to feed you in the future" steers the conversation away from him biting *you*, so to drive it back to suggesting he bite you you'd need to derail it a second time which it sounds like you were avoiding? I just responded positively the first time and it locked it in.

When he says "Unless you were looking for another nibble..."
I just said "Maybe later?" And that opened up nightly invites to bites.
It seemed pretty straight-forward to me.

Unfortunately it's also a much shorter conversation so I ended up with less dialog, but same results.

Having the opportunity open up again would be nice though.

I romance Astarion but I never do the feeding option...Why is missing it so bad?

There is no reason to let him feed on your PC. Have him bite merchants to make stealing easier.

I agree with you OP. I don’t really think much is wrong with the initial conversation, but there should be another opportunity in the future. From a roleplaying standpoint, offering to let Astarion feed on my Tav indefinitely didn’t make a lot of sense because they weren’t close at that point, so I didn’t pick it. I really wish there was a way to bring the topic up again after you start romancing him, since it seems obvious to me that Tav (and the player) might feel differently after getting attached to him.
