I have to say, I have a MASSIVE problem with the way the owlbear cub taming works. Specifically, when he appears at camp with a wounded paw. Now bear in mind, almost any party is going to have a mhealer of some sort (Cleric, Paladin, Druid, Bard) nopt to mention the preponderance of animal speaking potions, healing potions etc. That you can fail the roll is part of the game, but not having him available to save/retry with at a later date is questionable. I have never used him in the final battle, so I cannot say what his(her?) value is at end game, but I liked having the little critter running and playing with Scratch. I hope the devs will look at this, it may seem minor, but it breaks immersion for me; and if the community can be in an uproar over a naked versus furred cat, I hope this can be fixed in a patch as well.

You could say that for everything in the game dependent on a dice roll that locks you out of a certain thing. Like you said, it's part of the game. If you fail the persuasion check for Scratch, he just runs away. The consequences for an NPC dying in battle due to a failed dice roll would be meaningless if you could just revive them 5 minutes later. It's just the way the cookie crumbles. Better luck next time.

Now if there was a way to remove save scumming completely, I'd be all for it.
