Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Vit and Mana all over the place..

Everytime I look at my max vit/mana it's changed... My mana for example has gone from ~600 to ~1000 and is now at ~800, all in the past hour of gameplay. I've leveled twice but didn't put any points in int. What the heck is going on? It's not my equipment, it hasn't changed. Do quests give bonuses to stats when you complete them? Right after I finished act1 my DK had like twice his normal vit and my hero (wizard) had like 75% more mana, and like 15mins later it's down. My DK's vit actually seems lower then it was 45mins ago (went from like 300 (I think) to 550 to 250). It's all very strange and confusing. The stat screen isn't helping much either, the numbers there have never added up to my actual vit/mana.

Oh, and I'm not using stat potions either.

Heh, oops. I just figured out that eating food and resting gives you a temp boost to certain stats, probably depending on the food. That's what the cause is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

It could be that your equipment gives the boosts and degrades them as well when your eating. For instance booze or whatever will lower your intelligence. Arent guys stupid enough already?

I didnt feel like editing.. As mentioned above, If your stats are lowered enough so that your equipment cannot be worn, you'll lose those stats enhancements as well.

It's not my equipment, and it's not ale/wine. Seems you do get boosts when you finish an act. I finished act2 and my hero and DKs vit/mana doubled, but their equipment bonuses also locked (I could remove or equip items, but it wouldn't change anything, like a ring that added 2 const was removed but I still got the bonus 2 const, and when I tried to equip a +3 const ring I still only had the +2 from the old ring), everything went back to normal when I saved and reloaded. This time I know it wasn't from resting.
