The game graphics are getting worse with each patch. This patch doesn't have the kalaidascopic graphic anomalies of the last, but cut scenes have become so choppy and frozen so as to be completely unwatchable. The picture is almost always out of sync with the dialogue. Even the regular game-play graphics are now choppy... and all of this is on the medium graphics setting. I have an HDD, so I tried it with the slow HDD option, but this only made it worse.

I'll be stopping my game-play until the next patch. This one is a disaster.

A lot of people said that patch 3 threw their FPS into the gutter. I held off updating the game on my laptop but today I gave up and updated the game because running Steam offline was becoming a bother. Well, that was a mistake. The game used to run as smooth as butter. It is now a choppy mess, it's like the game is fighting against me. Slow reactions to absolutely everything, animations not keeping up with audio, slow, laggy, you name it I got it.

I had just finished act 2 when I had to purge the game to get rid of corrupt data, so I'm starting over. This time I didn't have to choose between killing Lae'zel or some innocent tieflings, so she's still with me. Apparently she wants to have sex and we're about to have a party (no spoilers). Talk about bad timing for a patch to mess up the graphics!

Coitus interuptus or what? LOL. At least I'm not alone.

I cleared my LevelCache out of desperation, and surprise, it worked. So long as I clear the LevelCache each time before I play there is no problem. Go to " %LocalAppData%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\LevelCache " if you want to try the same.

@All

The Cache is the problem (for most). Every scene you load, every character's wardrobe that is loaded, every weapon graphic that is loaded, those cached items never...ever clear. So it's a memory leak by design if you will. In Act 3 is really shines as a problem because of the quantity of NPCs vs the prior Acts. The Druid Grove's got nothing on Rivington for example.

The reason they don't clear is Larian's designers feel that when the characters pop up again, they will load faster since they're cached. Not taking into account the impact of Cache size on performance.
